This report has helped guide the Families Commission work on families with dependent children.
It combined and discussed results of a literature review, focus groups, and other relevant studies, and presented a cohesive picture of the diverse range of issues important to New Zealand families with dependent children.
This report was the part of the Families Commission Families with Dependent Children – Successful Outcomes project. That project identified the most important issues impacting families and provided foundations for an effective analysis of family life.
Purpose
The purpose of this report is to bring together and discuss findings of the literature review, focus groups, and other relevant studies, in order to present a cohesive picture of the issues currently important to New Zealand families with dependent children. It summarises, analyses and provides interpretation of the findings of the literature and focus groups.
