From July 1998 to June 1999, around 8,500 New Zealanders aged 12 years and over took part in the country’s first national Time Use Survey. This involved keeping a diary of everything they did over a two-day period and answering questions about themselves, their households and their activities. This pamphlet summarises the information gathered on cultural activities, as defined by the New Zealand Framework for Cultural Statistics.
