The Hub is the repository for New Zealand government social science research, maintained by the Social Wellbeing Agency.
Ko te Pokapū, he pātaka pārongo mo te rangahau a-hāpori nei. Kei a Toi Hau Tāngata te mana pupuri o te Pokapū.
While Toi Hau Tāngata, the Social Wellbeing Agency, maintains The Hub, Government agencies are responsible for the quality control and relevant peer review of research they publish to The Hub.
The Hub contains social science research undertaken, commissioned or partly funded by central government in New Zealand. We define 'social science research' as the systematic study of human action and interaction, and may include qualitative and quantitative research.
To be considered 'government' social science research it must be undertaken, commissioned or at least partly funded by:
-
Public service departments
-

- Crown entities
-

Social Science research is used to help policy makers and funders know what works. It may also be done to:
-
help inform the design of new policies
-
evaluate a policy or how it is being delivered.
Information that we haven't included on The Hub
-
Research by local government, such as councils
