Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) is a research study on student achievement in mathematics and science around the world. It is designed to measure and interpret differences in national educational systems in order to help improve the teaching and learning of mathematics and science worldwide. This paper outlines findings from TIMSS 2014/15 on the importance of parents and caregivers, using parents’ reports on home learning environment as well as principals’ and teachers’ perceptions of parent involvement in the school. Questionnaires were used for students, their parents, teachers, and their school leaders.
