Sport New Zealand’s Young People’s Survey was undertaken in Term 3 2011. While the majority of schools (and therefore students) took part at this time, some Christchurch schools chosen for the survey were not able to participate due to the impact following the February 2011 earthquake. Many did so however, in 2012.
This report provides an update of the survey methodology (where relevant). It covers topics such as updated sample details (nearly 18,000 students in total), response rates, and weighting among other things. It also reviews key estimates published in Sport and Recreation in the Lives of Young New Zealanders which only included the 2011 sample.
