Relevant, reliable and timely food and nutrition monitoring data are essential for the development and monitoring of effective food and nutrition-related policies, programmes and services.
This report is a synthesis of the most up-to-date and readily available food and nutrition monitoring data for New Zealand. This report was designed as one-stop shop for professionals and agencies working the spectrum of nutrition policy and service provision.
Although comprehensive, this report was not intended to be exhaustive and has a national focus. Where possible, socio-demographic and regional inequalities in food and nutrition indicators will be the focus of future reports in this series.
Food and Nutrition Monitoring 2006 is part of the Public Health Intelligence (PHI) Monitoring Report series.
