Key Directions for the Information Environment describes how information can be used to reach the goals set out by the Primary Health Care Strategy. Information should help people take action in five key areas:
- Support for self-care
- Support for tailored care
- Identifying and responding to population health needs
- Enabling the co-ordination of care and integration of services Improving performance and evidence-based decisions.
This document gives a long-term view of how information can be used to improve the health of different populations and a national level development path.
