The IDMS was established in 2005 to provide ongoing and timely information on changes in drug use and drug-related harm in New Zealand. It is conducted annually as part of the National Drug Policy. The data collected in the IDMS is intended to be used by a wide range of people to inform appropriate and timely responses to drug use in New Zealand
